New Stand Sponsorship/Facilities update
The club are delighted to welcome The Pancake & Waffle Shack as the inaugural sponsor of our newly completed stand.
The popular restaurant, based at the Five Wentways roundabout in Barton Mills offers all day breakfasts, pizza, burgers, pancakes & waffles, milkshakes and smoothies and we would very much recommend giving them a try!!
The help we have received from local companies has helped enable the clubs dramatic rise from Step 7 to Step 5 of the English Football pyramid in the past 4 seasons and we are very grateful for the Pancake & Waffle Shack becoming our latest partner.
Following promotion in the summer the club have embarked on upgrading The Nest to meet ground grading requirements required to play at Step 5. The near £30000 cost has been supported by grants from the FSIF and Lakenheath Parish Council alongside club funds, given the constraints of the past 18 months this has been an amazing achievement and our sincere thanks go to those that have supported us.
The works themselves have been carried out by local companies and tradesman.
Our new stand was hand built by former player, Shane Leech, who we would highly recommend for any building works in the local area. The stand is built exactly to the vision we had in wanting the development to fit in and complement the existing structures at our picturesque and historic home. We believe The Nest to be one of the most iconic senior grounds in the Eastern Region and the completed works enhance that.
The completion of the hard-standing, which now goes around all sides of the ground was completed by another local company Cocksedge Building Contractors. Cocksedge have completed several projects for us over the past few years and are great friends and supporters of the club.
We intend on having an official opening of our new facilities in the coming weeks and look forward to the club going from strength to strength.
